Meet the Family
Top Notch Construction is a family owned and operated construction business nestled in the Sierra Foothills of Nevada County, California.
Jim and Michelle Ruckman created Top Notch Construction out of necessity, to have flexibility and time to raise their four children. One of those children, being “special needs” required the ability to be available at a moments notice.
With a “family first” approach we provide 100% dedication to our customers and with such personal devotion each and every client becomes part of our much larger family.
Our Expertise
Jim Ruckman is a open book of information in relation to the construction world. His father, grand father and great grand father were all in the trades. Uncles, nephews, cousins, siblings, friends and now children are all working in the construction industry as well.
If there is a project that we can not handle personally, rest assured we know someone or have someone in our family that can give us and our clients the support they need.

quality, locally sourced materials that are easily matched or
duplicated should the need arise to make further repairs in the future.
